REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR TRANSCRIPTION AND REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGES

Transcription and Registration of Marriages

To proceed with the transcription of the marriage registration, the following documents are required:

1. Full Copy of the Birth Certificate and ID (Angolan Identity Card)
2. Consular registration (Angolan citizen)
3. Birth Certificate and ID of the betrothed (foreigner)
4. Certificate of Residence of the betrothed
5. Marriage Certificate (original)

Note: The full copy of the birth certificate or the Birth Certificate must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola (validity period equal to or less than 6 months).

Important note: All documents in a foreign language (except the passport, the international certificate of vaccinations and proof of flight and hotel reservations) must be previously translated into Portuguese by an official translator and authenticated by the local authorities (MOFA).
