REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR VISA APPLICATION

Tourist visa

The Tourism Visa is granted to a foreign citizen who intends to enter the Republic of Angola, for family reasons, for business prospecting, to participate in scientific and technological activities, or on a visit of a recreational, sporting or cultural nature. It is valid for 120 days.

Note: The Tourism Visa does not allow its holder to establish residence, nor to carry out any paid activity in Angolan territory.

The Tourist Visa applicant must present the following documents:

  1. Letter from the applicant addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy requesting a visa;
  2. Form duly completed;
  3. Two photographs;
  4. Original and photocopy of Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  5. Photocopy of the updated International Vaccination Certificate;
  6. Print of the flight reservation or Ticket;
  7. Hotel reservation, or proof of reception by citizens residing in Angola;
  8. Evidence of livelihood;
  9. Declaration of commitment to Angolan law.

Application for a Tourist Visa for persons under 18 years of age, in addition to the documentation required above:

  1. Authorization or Power of Attorney by the tutors, with signatures recognized by the Angolan Notary, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola and by the Consular Sector of the Republic of Vietnam in Angola.

 

 

Short Term Visa

The Short Term Visa is granted to citizens who, for urgent reasons, need to enter Angolan territory. It is valid for 10 days

Note: The Short Term Visa does not allow its holder to establish residence, nor to exercise any paid activity in Angolan territory.

The applicant for a Short Term Visa must present the following documents:

  1. Letter from the applicant addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy requesting a visa;
  2. Form duly completed;
  3. Two photographs;
  4. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  5. Print of the flight reservation or Ticket;
  6. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  7. Hotel reservation, or proof of reception by citizens residing in Angola;
  8. Evidence of livelihood;
  9. Declaration of commitment to Angolan law.

 

Transit visa

The transit visa is granted to foreign citizens who, in order to reach the country of destination, have to stopover in Angolan territory.

The applicant for a Transit Visa must present the following documents:

  1. Letter from the applicant addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy requesting a visa;
  2. Form duly completed;
  3. Two Photographs (pass type);
  4. Original and photocopy of the Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets and including the visa page of the country of destination;
  5. Hotel reservation or reception by citizen;
  6. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  7. Declaration of commitment to Angolan law;

 

Work permit:

The Work Permit is granted to foreign citizens and is intended for entry into Angolan territory, in order to temporarily exercise a paid professional activity in the interest of the State or on behalf of others;

The applicant for a Work Permit must present the following documents:

  1. Letter from the contracting entity addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy requesting a visa;
  2. Form duly completed;
  3. Two Photographs (pass type);
  4. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets
  5. Employment contract or promissory contract;
  6. Opinion of MAPESS or another oversight body;
  7. Declaration of commitment to the laws of Angola;
  8. Photocopy of the Diário da República (without company constitution) Updated proof of payment of taxes
  9. Certificate of academic and/or professional qualifications;

Curriculum vitae;

  1. Certificate of Criminal Record of the country where you reside;
  2. Medical certificate issued in the country where you reside;
  3. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;

 

Study Visa

The Study Visa is granted to foreign citizens and is intended to allow the holder to enter Angolan territory, in order to attend a study program in public or private schools, as well as professional training centers or to carry out internships in companies and public or private services.

The applicant must submit the following documents:

  1. Letter addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy requesting a Visa;
  2. Form duly completed
  3. Two Photographs (pass type)
  4. Original and photocopy of passport valid for more than one year
  5. Proof of enrollment or proof of attendance at a recognized official educational establishment;
  6. Copy of the criminal record certificate;
  7. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  8. Medical certificate from the country of origin;
  9. Proof of livelihoods;

10.Declaration of commitment to Angolan law.

Temporary Stay Visa

The Temporary Stay Visa is granted to foreign citizens and is intended to allow its holder to enter Angolan territory based on the following:

  1. a) Fulfill a mission in a religious institution or non-governmental organization;
  2. b) Carry out scientific research, mobility and university extension work:
  3. c) Accompany the family of the Study Visa holder; Medical, investor or work treatment;
  4. d) Be a family member of a valid residence permit holder;
  5. e) Be the spouse of a national citizen.

The applicant for a Temporary Stay Visa must submit the following documents:

  1. Letter from the applicant addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy requesting a visa;
  2. Form duly completed;
  3. Two Photographs (pass type);
  4. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  5. Criminal Registration Certificate issued in the country of origin;
  6. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  7. Medical certificate issued in the country of origin;
  8. Proof of family relationships with national citizens;
  9. Proof of means of subsistence and housing;
  10. Declaration of commitment to Angolan law.

 

Medical Treatment Visa

The Medical Treatment Visa is granted to foreign citizens and is intended to allow its holder to enter national territory, in order to undergo treatment in a public or private hospital.

The applicant for a Medical Treatment Visa must present the following documents:

  1. Letter from the applicant addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy requesting a visa;
  2. Form duly completed;
  3. Two Photographs (pass type);
  4. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  5. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  6. Medical report from the country of origin;
  7. Proof of medical consultation;
  8. Document from the health institution where the applicant will be hospitalized;
  9. Copy of the Criminal Registry certificate of the country of origin;
  10. Proof of livelihoods;
  11. Declaration of commitment to Angolan law.

Residence fixation visa

The Residence Fixation Visa is granted to the foreigner who intends to take up residence in the national territory.

Note: The Residence Fixation Visa entitles its holder to exercise paid professional activity.

Applicants for a Residence Securing Visa must present the following documents:

  1. Letter from the applicant addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy
  2. Form duly completed
  3. Two photographs (pass type)
  4. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  5. Certificate of Criminal Record of the country of origin / where you reside;
  6. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  7. Medical certificate issued in the country where you reside
  8. Disclaimer of the host or proof of ownership / lease of residence
  9. Proof of livelihoods
  10. Declaration of commitment to Angolan subsistence law
  • In case of application for marriage or family union, attach the following documents:
  1. a) Copy of the Identity Card or Birth Certificate of the requesting spouse (national).
  2. b) Copy of the marriage certificate.
  3. c) Form duly completed
  4. d) two photographs;
  5. e) photocopy of passport.

Investor visa

The investor visa is granted by the Migration Authority (Angola) to the foreign investor citizen, representative or attorney of the investing company, for the purpose of realization and executing an investment proposal, provided that it is registered by the competent body of the Republic Administration, under the terms of the Law on Private Investment.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR DIPLOMATIC, COURTESY AND OFFICIAL VISA

Diplomatic, official and courtesy visas are granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through diplomatic or consular missions, authorized for this purpose, to the holder of a diplomatic, service, special or ordinary passport traveling to the Republic of Angola on a diplomatic visit , of service or of an official character. 2. The visas referred to in the previous number must be used within 60 days,

Diplomatic Visa

The Diplomatic Visa is granted to diplomats, employees of embassies with diplomatic status, to heads of offices of international organizations, as well as to their respective spouses and children.

The applicant for a Diplomatic Visa must present the following documents:

  1. Note verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Missions, Consulates, UN Representations or Regional Organizations;
  2. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  3. Form duly completed;
  4. Two (2) passport photographs;
  5. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  6. Reservation or Ticket Ticket (photocopy);
  7. Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola (ICAESC)

For minors

  • Travel authorization by the tutors, with recognized signatures;
  • Original and photocopy of the tutors’ identity card;
  • For minors aged one (1) year, it is mandatory to present the International Vaccine Certificate, minors under age must present the medical statement

Official Visa

The Official visa is granted to the holder of an official or service passport traveling to the Republic of Angola on an official visit.

Applicants for an Official Visa must present the following documents:

  1. Note verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Missions, Consulates, UN Representations or Regional Organizations;
  2. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  3. Form duly completed;
  4. Two (2) passport photographs;
  5. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  6. Reservation or Ticket Ticket (photocopy);
  7. Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola (ICAESC)

For minors

  • Travel authorization by the tutors, with recognized signatures;
  • Original and photocopy of the tutors’ identity card;

For minors aged one (1) year, it is mandatory to present the International Vaccine Certificate, minors under age must present the medical certificate

Courtesy Visa

The courtesy visa is granted to the holder of a diplomatic, special or ordinary passport traveling to the Republic of Angola, on a diplomatic, service or official visit.

The applicant for a Courtesy Visa must present the following documents:

  1. Note verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Missions, Consulates, UN Representations or Regional Organizations;
  2. Original and photocopy Passport, valid for more than 6 months and 2 free sheets;
  3. Form duly completed;
  4. Two (2) passport photographs;
  5. Photocopy of the International Certificate of Updated Vaccines;
  6. Reservation or Ticket Ticket (photocopy);
  7. Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola (ICAESC)

For minors

  • Travel authorization by the tutors, with recognized signatures;
  • Original and photocopy of the tutors’ identity card;
  • For minors over the age of one (1) year, it is mandatory to present the International Vaccine Certificate, minors under age must present a medical certificate.

Investor Visa Information

The investor visa is granted by the Migration Authority to the investing foreign citizen, representative or attorney of the investing company, for the purpose of carrying out and executing an investment proposal, provided that it is registered by the competent body of Public Administration, under the terms of the Law on Private Investment.

Consular Registration

Consular inscription is an act by which Angolan citizens qualify for consular protection provided by the Diplomatic Mission, in accordance with the 1963 Vienna Convention on consular relations. It is one of the necessary requirements for the national citizen to benefit from the consular services provided by that Embassy.

To proceed with consular registration, Angolan citizens (including minors) legally residing in Vietnam must gather the following documents:

1.Forms duly completed.

  1. Full Copy of Birth Certificate, Complete Narrative Certificate of Birth, Identity Card or Passport
  2. Residence Permit in Vietnam
  3. passport photo
  4. Certificate of Residence in Vietnam
  5. Declaration of work or Certificate of the Teaching Establishment.

Note: The full copy of the birth certificate or the Birth Certificate must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola (validity period equal to or less than 6 months).

Important note: All documents in a foreign language (except passport, international certificate of vaccinations and proof of flight and hotel reservations) must be previously translated into Portuguese by an official translator and authenticated by the local authorities (MOFA)
